This padlock would be considered a reproduction. This padlock was first made in the mid 1980's. You can tell this lock from the original by the number 85 cast into the upper back of the padlock. This is true until someone removes the 85 and tries to sell it as an original. So take a very close look at the back to see if someone has tried to remove anything where the 85 would have been.

This is a new fantasy story type of lock that started showing up in Australia in the fall of 2006. There has been a large quantity of these locks sold.
